Join us in a magical Sussex woodland near Brighton and Lewes for an immersive and deeply nourishing tree celebration revealing the extraordinary gifts and forgotten importance of one of the most generous and loving of all trees.
Birch Rising is a relaxing and nourishing 7 hour day filled with experiences and insights that revive the wisdom of ancient human forest cultures. From harvesting and drinking birch sap and spring tonics, to fermenting the edible harvests of this tree into food and drink, to harnessing the physical and chemical powers of Birch Trees for building materials, medicines and soil amendments, such as Birch tar and Biochar.
You will be guided by four passionate nature teachers: Fergus the Forager, Old Tree Brewery's Tom and Iside and Forest Medicine's Muji. These ecological practitioners collectively have over 50 years of combined experience working with and learning from Birch trees.
