SCOBY Donation to Phyein Collective - Exhibition at Hypha Studios London Euston
Something different from us today. Sometimes we get requests for SCOBY donations. So over the previous season, we have been donating our leftover SCOBY to research projects.
Below is what the SCOBY looked like when we sent it.
The sculpture below is what was created for the exhibit at Hypha Studios in Euston
The Exhibition is called Spoiled Propaganda : Grafting Bio-Futurism
The exhibition brings together an incredible group of artists, designers, researchers and makers working at the intersection of art, biology, technology and ecology. From living materials and microbial pigments to robotic fabrication and regenerative design, they are exploring how biodesign can help us imagine more beautiful, strange and interconnected futures.
You can find the full programme and more about the exhibition here: linktr.ee/phyein.collective
Where: Hypha Gallery Euston, Euston Tower, 286 Euston Road, London NW1 3DP
Exhibition dates: 8 October – 7 November 2026
Gallery hours: Thursday–Sunday, 12–6pm, plus events
The exhibition is free to visit and open to everyone.
"Second Skin"

She Grows by Tanvi Khurmi, Rita Morais - https://phyein-collective.com/khurmi-morais
Living Material · Transformation · Activation
Material becomes mirror and metaphor. Tanned, leathery skin bubbles up at the intersection of liquid and air, sweet tea and oxygen. The skin of “She Grows” emerges from its specific conditions. Slight changes in temperature and humidity translate to mutations in colour and pattern.
The awe actuated by divergence is a call to embrace our own contradictions; individual and communal. A call to subsume rigid structures and identities, to witness transformation, and embrace change.
